Back in February I was flying into Vegas, and as we crossed into Nevada, I was looking out the window, and all you could see was just mountains and emptiness. And as luck would have it, I had to go from Salt Lake City to Indio California, and I’m so used to just hopping in a plane, at first I was just gonna fly, but then I realized, Nevada is one of those states that everybody kinda forgets about. I mean ask anybody what they know about Nevada besides Area 51 and Vegas, and well… they don’t… know… ANYTHING. Even on my scratch map of states I’ve visited, I’ve been to every state out west EXCEPT Nevada… And that got me thinking…

maybe I’ll bring my travel buddy and drive instead. Because it got me wondering - what’s actually there? What’s actually IN all that emptiness?

”So we’re gonna be driving through Nevada for about 3 days. First from Salt Lake City to Wendover, which is right across the Utah Nevada line, then to Ely, then along the Extraterrestrial Highway to Rachel, where Area 51 is, and then to Tonopah. After that we’ll be heading into California, but one thing is for sure, I am NOT heading into Nevada through all that desert and emptiness until we stock up on essentials, and Dollar Tree is probably one of my most useful travel hacks. You could go to Walmart and spend $30 on everything, but Dollar Tree has the same stuff, and it’s all $1.25.
